Labor Day/Motel Day

Moriah had this brilliant idea to ride our bikes on state street and take photos of old motels.
Told you.....brilliant.
This is just before we submitted our resumes to the Show Club.

Serious.

We rode our bikes at least 50 (five zero!) blocks so we stopped by the farmer's house.
Correction.
Babe farmer.
Isn't she the cutest?
She knows everything about the earth, planting, and the moon.
Then she fed us.
Raw heaven right there.

Back on our bikes for night time motel-ing.

After our bike ride we took a break.
This guy showed up for exactly 17 minutes.
Just enough time for this gem of a picture to happen.

Doobie Brothers & The Growlers

Guess who listened to the Doobie Brothers on the hillside this particular Sunday?
Yep.
Me.
Awesome.
Later that night when I met my friend to see show #2, The Growlers, he asked where I had been. I replied, "To see the Doobie Brothers. I needed to get some perspective."
He replied in his smart ass way, "...and the Doobie Brothers had that perspective?"
Duh. He clearly does not know anything about the greatness of the band.
Check out how rad the set-up for The Growlers was.
They may have been missing half of their band members that night, but the show was still incredible.
Plus, the mad alchemist slash scientist behind the projectors was full of knowledge.
He would not share any of his knowledge though.
I guess I look like someone who would steal his projector ideas.

Raw Food

One morning I woke up and decided I needed a cleanse.
I chose to go raw for ten days.
I am too active to do a full cleanse right now.
Plus.
I think I have done one too many cleanses in my life.
I overdosed on cleanses.
After the ten days I kept eating raw foods, because I loved it so much.
When this posts I will have been raw for nearly two months.
This lifestyle change has been an emotional and physical journey that was well worth it.
Life changes.
This is what my cupboards look like now.
Yes, they always look that organized.
I get that question often.
Organizing is what I do.
Duh.
Guess what never looks like that?
My car and purse.
I love that there is a) something in the cupboards 2) it is all delicious and healthy, and 3) that almost anything can be made with these ingredients.

I love making raw meals.
I think it is more fun that cooking with cooked items.
In fact, I kind of like "cooking" again.
This was the start of a mushroom soup I made.
The mushrooms and onions (yes, onions) were dehydrated first.
Then blended to make soup.
My Grandma's china makes everything better.
And.
Yes, I really do eat daily meals with china.
I happen to also use silver daily.
I was born in the wrong era.

One thing I have noticed that can get old is the amount of dishes I now do.
I am only one person, but cutting fruits and vegetables all day can make a mess.
But.
I get to wear my cute aprons more often.
Yes, I really wear aprons.
What did I tell you, born in the wrong era.
Myspace-esque photo for Lauren, who gave me this one as a gift.
So cute.
So simple.
So in love.
My favorite.
I thought about posting recipes, but then I remembered I did not feel like it.

She & Him

The night began with a rust removal lesson.

Then there was some girl talk on their part.

Some bikes.
Some matching shirts.
Some friends.
Some love.

Some music.
Some out of place dancing at a mellow concert.
Priceless.
Some button popping.
Yes, that happened at the beginning of the night.
Yep. I really just posted this revealing photo.
How could leave it out when it was the topic of the night.
Thanks a lot mercury in retrograde.
Some reactions to the button popping.

Some weirdness and happiness combined.

Some birthdays.
Some DeBarge love on vinyl.
Some dancing and more matching shirts.
Some eccentric face making.

Some incredible dance moves.
Some new friends.
Lastly, some Halloween in August mix-up by this girl.

One Time...

I went for a hike above Alta.
There are secret waterfalls there, which are beautiful.
If anyone has talked to me recently they know the hike story.
It is a good one.
Just ask me.
After the hike I went to MOriah's house.
She went pro at finding good songs to get us ready to go out on the town.
That is code for waking us up since we are no longer spring chickens.
I told her she needed better speakers, because her computer speakers suck.
She has some, but blamed the problem on the lack of outlets.
This excuse is true.
Poor speakers are a problem for someone that loves music as much as I do.
Well, maybe just a problem for me.
She tried to remedy the situation with these giant headphones.
And.
I mean giant.
Almost as giant as me.
She said she wears them when snowboarding.
So funny.
You are slowing crossing completely over into the bro world Moriah.
...but I do not think the bro world includes making your own amazing tie-dye shirts.
Can you believe she just whipped this t-shirt up before I arrived?
She should start craft workshops.
New job idea!
After all of the jams on the computer, we hopped on our bikes, and made our way to see friends play music.
Brice and his roommate look like such a cute couple here.
Always excellent boys.
Love your new songs.
There is a new game at the venue.
Look what I could have won!
The claw failed me miserably, although it could have been operator error.
We love music, even without giant headphones, the most.

Elisha even made it to the show.
This picture looks like I have my hand on her leg romantically.
It is an illusion.
I am an illusion.
This night was really fun for no specific reason at all.
I think it was hanging out with so many great friends.
Yes.
That was it.

End of Summer Barbecue

Raina and Lee planned a barbecue.
"We plan everything."-Lee said.
That is kind of whiny Lee, but works out great for me.
I happen to be on the outs with planning.
When I arrived I was greeted with the biggest hug ever from this darling little girl.
She once told me I am her best friend.
Cutest and I accept.
At this moment Natalie had just started eating and Lucy said,
"I need to go to the bathroom Mom!"
Then proceeded to cry.
Natalie's Mom face?
Priceless.
Best chef award goes to Cody.
Di and Darren came.
She is all sorts of knocked up.
So many kids everywhere.
Good thing I enjoy them all.
Scarlett is my other best friend.
She took this picture.
Nice work.
Then she tried to convince me to give her my camera forever.
Extra nice work.

Just bronzing.
No big deal.
Sisters.
This is what happens when people steal your camera.
Cute guys.
I have known these girls (and the guys) since I was sixteen.
Friends forever.
Brandon is some sort of celebrity.
Lee was beyond happy when he arrived.
Brandon told me I am the exact same way with my camera as I was in high school after I took these pictures..
Actually A-hole.
I use it way less than I did back then, but you are welcome for documenting your life.
That was said with love.
They were doing actual swing dance moves.
One of my favorites actually.
Too bad I am too giant to do such a move.
That used to be a problem when I would go swing dancing three times a week.
Now I just leave it to the shorties.
After eating we went to the waterfalls.
Thanks for planning everything Lee and Raina.
Always a pleasure.
