Birthday Party!

One of the weeks I spent being a faux single Mom I was invited to a birthday party for one of my favorite little tikes.

My friend threw her son the best birthday party he could ever ask for.

The kids had a blast.

So did the adults.

Comics?

One spring afternoon my friend and I decided to take a walk around the city. A library trip was included in this walk. While at the library he marches over to me with this huge book and says,

"I am going to get you into comics. Read this."

Yeah...right. Me into comics? He claimed that this book is the first step for girls. I would guess that is true because it a graphic novel about love. I took his challenge.

I read it in two days. Easy read. Perfect for someone who is in school.

What I was not expecting was the roller coaster of emotions that large book put me through. The book was filled with a guy struggling with life, high school, religion, his first love, and growing up. Things we have all had to deal with. Things I deal with at my current age.

It was beautiful.

So was the artwork.

I officially love comics now. I am on comic reading assignment number two and I couldn't be happier.

Thank you friend for broadening my horizons. You always have something excellent to share.

P.S. Read this book right now. You will not regret it.

My Best Friend

One of my besties move away to pursue her kick ass career.

She is the coolest pilot I know and bestest friend on the planet.

I miss her. The most.

However! I am beyond proud of her.

She came to town for one weekend only.

We packed weeks of fun into one day.

It was awesome and we laughed a lot.

Adventure Day at NPS

Adventure days never fail.

This is when Nate claimed everything goes with his new hat that is hunter orange. He walked around, and proved it to me by putting his hat next to each bolt of fabric.

I hate to admit it but he is right.

Friends for a million years. I love Rainb's face in this one. Priceless.

My friend Lily was in town for the weekend so she came with her brothers.

Before the show we traded massage and she did an acupressure session for me.

Amazing.

Sometimes I forget how great massage is.

After the show her brother showed us how to work this rad synthesizer.

It is not easy.

I think I need to pay for lessons on this thing because it is incredible.

P.S. He builds that shiv. A regular Einstein right there.

Lilly is an excellent artist. She left me with this parting gift.

I would love to have this kind of artwork all over the house.
